"Photography calls on many, but chooses few." - 365 Project, Day 159

Though this sentence may seem somewhat straightforward, I, much to the dismay of my cousin, will proceed to deconstruct it.  Does it mean that it chooses few to have it as a profession?  Or be a good photographer?  Or even be considered a photographer?  Of the people it calls, do these people answer?  Or even consider themselves photographers?

Whatever the answers, it is a valid point that few people can be considered self-sufficient photographers, and for many, photography has to be relegated as a hobby.  This is not necessarily a bad thing, and because of the wealth of talent that hobbyists have, it makes it easy to find great pictures when one is looking for a particular type of picture.  Though this may not help the amateur trying to be a professional, it does weed out the good photographers from the bad.

Here's what our hobby has given us today.

Shannon

Her note: Fresh cucumber from the garden.  Mmm.

Myself

Not much going on today, and Shannon didn't have a sky picture, so I decided to take one instead.  Colours are kind of fake, but the clouds are nice.
