This is yet another reason to justify post-processing, though presents it from a different angle. Simplest question that comes to mind is, what's the difference between making the subject look pretty before or after the picture is taken? It's a simple question, but for purists it's a simple answer, though purists will generally not do anything to subject to begin with. Although, to be exceptionally picky, taking two steps to one side or the other to get a subject, whatever it may be, at the right angle, is one form of editing. What, then, is the difference between that and cropping?
There is also a difference in the type of photography, as well. Today's quote is from a glamour/fashion photographer and she openly talks about retouching her photos. There's a slight difference between fashion photography and photojournalism, and the tenets of one would definitely not carry over very well to the other.
All in all, I like this quote. It's simple and pretty powerful.

His note: This bird dove at me then landed on this roof. Seems like he was proud of his accomplishment.
Shannon
Her note: I don't like the look of this.
Me
Once again, a colourful leaves shot. It's fall and it'll probably happen again before all the leaves are on the ground. It was a slow day and there wasn't much to look at. It does have pretty colours, though.
I'm not sure about tomorrow, though I have a feeling I'll be tired.
